Pata Community Project -Winchcombe

Originally the project involved placing a roof on an existing performance stage, however it quickly became clear that the existing structure was rotten and unsafe. Our team then completed a design and build of a new stage complete with roof and seating on sides and along the back.

The design catered for the new structure being built on a archaeological site, this prevented us digging holes for the support posts. This was overcome by using adjustable plastic support pads that held the posts and also provided a way to level the structure while holding all the timber off the ground greatly reducing the risk of water damage. The structure was finished off with a clear preservative to give a natural timber look.

Our team from Men in Sheds have completed the replacement of an existing timber shed for the Greatfield Park Primary School. This involved dismantling an old timber shed and building a replacement tin shed.

The most difficult part of constructing the new shed was moving it’s heavy metal base into position, this involved a lot of physical effort by a group  of  people from the school staff and the men in sheds team working together.
